A little about Angie:

With an approachable, clean style, Angie Hagist enjoys designing scrapbook layouts, cards, and projects that are not only beautiful and fun, but also simple enough for crafters at all levels to be able to recreate quickly and easily. Although Angie has been creating art since childhood, it wasn’t until she discovered paper crafting and photography in her early 20s that she found her creative passions. Since that time, she has done design work for a variety of manufacturers, and her projects have appeared in many of the industry’s top publications such as Simple Scrapbooks, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, Cards, Scrapbooks, Etc., Memory Makers, Paper Trends, and more. In addition to crafting, Angie and her husband own their own business, which they run together in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She spends most of her free time with her husband and two daughters. Thank you so much Angie for working with PF this month!

We are so happy to have Lisa on board with us for the month of August! Lisa does amazing work and knocks out some incredibule mini albums, I can’t wait to see what she does with the Pageframe Clear Albums!!

Lisa’s bio:

My name is Lisa and I can’t imagine my life without scrapbooking. Because of scrapbooking, I’ve discovered a love for photography and truly see my life and surroundings differently.

No matter what I’m working on, I scrapbook for me! I scrapbook to tell the stories of my life, and for the sheer joy of doing something creative. I absolutely love it!

I’ve been published by Creating Keepsakes and Simple Scrapbooks, as well as contributed to an upcoming Memory Makers book by Linda Harrison, and I am a member of the design team at scrapsupply.com.

I am thrilled to have been teaching for Big Picture Scrapbooking since it began a few years ago. Most of my classes focus on my love of scrapbooking products, and finding fun ways to use them, as well as on digital photography and using your camera to capture your everyday life.

I live in my hometown on the coast of California with my wonderful husband Matt, our 5 1/2 year old son Todd, and our big old lug of a senior citizen black lab Huckleberry.

I am so excited to be the guest designer for Page Frames this month. I love their products and am honored to have had this opportunity to work with them. Thanks Again!

Thank you Lisa for joining us this month!!

A good change…

A Change in Ownership

We are pleased to announce the sale of Pageframe Designs, LLC effective June 25, 2008. Pageframe Designs has grown substantially over the past two years and in order to give our customers the very best service, the manufacturing and distribution of all Pageframe Designs products will now be done from within the USA.    Now based from the heart of central Utah, we will be able to offer faster ship times with lower shipping rates; along with the same great quality products you’ve been able to count on from Pageframe Designs.   The founding owner, Tara Tuck, will continue to work with the new owners through this transition and then to assist in the further growth of the business in it’s new environment.

In an effort to make sure our customers are taken care of during the transition we have elected not to attend CHA Chicago in July 2008. However there will be some very exciting new releases you won’t want to miss along with some pretty fantastic show specials.

I am pleased to introduce the new owner of PageFrame Designs, Heather Stanworth:

“Hi everyone. I’m so excited to be able to work with all of you. I’ve been in the scrapbooking industry for eight years and am looking forward to applying my knowledge and experience to the Pageframes company. My goals for the business are simple. Keep the same great quality products, provide excellent customer service, and help our retailers be successful in moving our products out the door. In the upcoming months you willl see not only amazing new products but special services to make your lives as retailers easier and more profitable. I would also like to thank the previous owner of Pageframes, the fabulous Tara Tuck for her guidance and willingness to continue working with Pageframes.”

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you.

Sincerely,

Heather Stanworth, owner

Veronica Jennings- June Guest Designer!!!

Please help me welcome the oh so talented Vee as our June Guest Designer!! We are lucky to have her!

Hi, this is Vee!!! I live in the Washington DC area with my two children, Saadiq and Syani which keep me pretty busy and on my toes!   I love creating and started scrapbooking seven years ago after the birth of my son. I tend to scrap LATE at night which makes Starbucks a necessity in the mornings for me, lol. I love to create and use paint mixed with simple elements on my pages, minibooks and atc’s. When I am not creating  or mommy-ing, I love to watch my shows (sorry to say I am a lil’ addicted to the tube).I had a great time time playing with your awesome products, thank you so much for asking me to design for the month of June!

Thank you Vee!

Treat Bag- How To!

I just fell in love with this treat bag that Tania Willis (May guest designer) did for us and I thought you all would love to know how to do one too!  Imagine the possibilities with this, you could trim it down to an 9″x9″ or smaller to make smaller bags and fill it with candy or treats! I just love this clever idea!

clear-treat-bag-2-final.jpg

She so graciously wrote out the instructions for us! Thank you Tania!!!

This treat bag was constructed using one of the 12×12 Patterned Sheets.

Instructions:
1. Using a piece of 11” x 8 ½” patterned acrylic sheet in front of you in landscape format, make score marks from top to bottom at 2 ½”, 5”, 7 ½” and 10”. (NOTE: This same bag can be made using a 12×12” piece.  Score marks at 2 ¾”, 5 ½”, 8 ¼”, and 11” instead.)

2. Turn your patterned acrylic 90 degrees and make one score mark 2 ½” from one side.(NOTE: If using a 12×12”.  Score mark will be at 2 ¾” instead.)

3. Fold along ALL scored markings and cut away the 1” x 2 ½” piece in the lower corner and discard.

4. Place adhesive on one bottom flap and adhere to the flap immediate adjacent.  Continue to overlap and adhere until all 4 bottom pieces are adhered.

5. Place adhesive on the 1” strip, tuck to the inside and pinch to adhere, making a tall cube open on the top.

6. Fill bag with desire treats (candies, gift cards, money, etc)

7. Pinch top closed and punch two holes for ribbon closure using a Crop-o-Dile or heavy duty hole punch.

8. String ribbon through holes and tie in a bow.

9. Embellish outside with sentiment of your choice.

TIP:  If you do not have a scoring tool or scoring blade on your trimmer, you can use a regular blade.  Since the acrylic is so thick it will not cut all the way through anyway….at least the two trimmers I tested it on, would not. They were Fiskars and the Cutterpede.

Celebrate Summer!!

We are celebrating summer with the release of three HOT new patterned Clearly Heavy Overlays!! Now available in grassy green, rich magenta and brilliant orange. These grid overlays are perfect for creating your own summer albums, embellishments, alphas and shapes.

What is a Clearly Heavy Overlay? Much thicker than a transperancy but still thin enough to cut with your paper trimmer, Pageframe Designs Clearly Heavy Overlays are the ultimate in versatility and the next step in transparent crafting. See below as we demonstrate how to cut an eight page album using just TWO Clearly Heavy Overlays.

Create an eight page album using just TWO overlays

1. Cut the overlay into four equal squares using your paper trimmer.

2. Punch holes in the squares using a Crop-A-Dile tool. Be sure to line up the holes as you punch each square. Round the corners using a corner rounder punch (optional). Use metal book rings, ribbon or a Bind-it-All machine to put the album together.

Have some fun by alternating different colors and patterned sheets with clear pages.

Tania Willis!!! May Guest Designer!

I’m a bit slow this month… lol

But I am so proud to announce the oh so talented Tania as our May guest designer!!

A little about Tania:

More than a few days without being creative or creating some form of artwork and I get ants in my pants.  The creative itch, I like to call it.  Once you get to know me, you’ll see that I scream Type A personality and I’m a bit obsessive-compulsive.  Which means, I can’t sit still.  My hands have to be constantly busy.  So scrapbooking fits well!

My preferred approach to scrapbooking memories is to use everyday pictures of my children and add something unexpected in the journaling.  I often (not always) skip the basic 5 W’s (who, what, when, where, why) and instead, relay a life lesson in my journaling.

I have 3 kids (one BIG kid and 2 littles). I’ve been married to the big kid for almost 12 years—he’s my best friend and the most adoring father I could have ever dreamed of for my 2 spunky little princesses—Ashlyn Rose, 6, and Emma Grace, 3.  Random Fact #1: I totally loathe shopping, but if I *have* to shop, it’s Old navy and Target—I’m easy to please. Random Fact #2: I LOVE peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches.  Before you say ewwwwwwwwww, I dare you to try it, even once!  You might well like it. Random Fact #3: I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do (but I’m quite out of practice).Check out the gallery to see her awesome projects!!!

Thanks Tania!

-Kim
